If you’re familiar with Fast Horse, you may also know of our lifestyle brand, Modern Midwest. If that’s not the case, here’s what we’re all about: We work to bring together a community of modern design and lifestyle enthusiasts across the Midwest, with an emphasis in four markets: Minneapolis, St. Louis, Detroit and Chicago. Our goal is to rebrand the Midwest from “flyover country” to a region that hosts some of the most cutting-edge and interesting design, architecture, culinary arts and fashion.

And just in time for the holidays, we’re announcing something really, really cool: Modern Market. The first-ever Modern Midwest event will be hosted right here in the North Loop at Fast Horse, and will feature a carefully curated group of local makers, local food and drink, live music and art – all of which embody the Midwest’s distinct take on modern living.

Modern Market allows guests to shop everything from “beard-centric apothecary” to modern lighting fixtures from a unique combination of local makers – a rare opportunity, since the vendors don’t operate brick and mortar storefronts – throughout four floors of event space. The building was designed by renowned Modern architect, David Salmela, and is an American Institute of Architects 2015 Honor Award winner.

Featured makers include byrd & belle, Lanona, Parlour Von Kopp, Tandem Made, Woodchuck and more who offer a chance to find the perfect, unique gift for everyone this holiday season. A full list of vendors can be found here.
