Bust out the hard hats!

It took more than 18 months, countless revisions, a lot of creativity and some really committed partners, but we’re excited to announce that our building renovation project is officially a go.

If everything goes right, by next spring we will be moving into a modern four-story building designed by the legendary Duluth architect David Salmela.

Why did it take it take three times as long just to decide whether to move ahead as it will to actually complete the renovation?

Well, these sorts of project are complex, with lots of rules and regulations to navigate at the city level, and plenty of design and engineering challenges to solve. And just when you think you have it nailed, some unimaginative appraiser throws cold water on the whole thing and you have to go back to the drawing board.

Construction should begin Dec. 1. In the meantime, we’re trying to find a temporary home. We’d love to find a six-month lease in a 3,000- to 4,000-square-foot space that’s ready for us to set up shop with very little improvement needed. We prefer to stay in the North Loop area or Northeast Minneapolis, but would entertain other Minneapolis locations. Send leads to info@fasthorseinc.com.
