We knew she was a winner, but now the Summit Brewing Co. has made it official.
Our own design intern, Hillary Heinz, is the November winner of Summit’s monthly “Get to the Bottom of It” contest. Each month, Summit fans tell the brewer what they’d like to get to the bottom of. The winner gets a $50 gift certificate to the brewery gift shop — and their face on a Summit billboard!
Hillary got her inspiration at a recent gathering of the Twin Cities Social Media Breakfast held at — where else — the Summit Brewery.
“They had beer at 8 a.m., which was awesome. Oatmeal stout, of course,” she recounted. “And suddenly it dawned on me — which is a better social medium: beer or Twitter?” She posted her question on the Summit website, and the rest is history.
Hillary says she admires Summit’s social media marketing: “They have great social media. They have an awesome Facebook page,” she said. “It’s truly user-generated. It’s always more interesting to read what your fellow people are saying.”
But when it comes to social media, Hillary kicks it old school.
“A lot of people may love Twitter, but everyone loves beer,” she said. “Twitter can only get you so far. When you sit down with a cold one, conversation really flows.”
She plans to use her gift certificate to buy Summit glasses: “A lot of Summit glasses. I want Summit glasses.”
