Stop what you’re thinking, and let me preface this Idea Peepshow debut by saying I bleed purple, and as a graduate of the University of Minnesota, I’ll be a Gopher for life.

If you ask me, my UW-Madison-attending, marching-bander of a younger sibling is a disgrace to the family (ginger hair and all).

However, I am a sucker for sporting traditions and a healthy dose of competition. As self-nominated touch football MVP of the office, I thought this would be the perfect way to introduce myself and tell my story.

Maybe it was all in my head, but I was always finding ways to one-up my baby brother and thought we were in a constant struggle for “favorite” child status (and perhaps I still do).

You can imagine the immediate disgust and jealousy I felt when I saw this photo of him taken last Sunday at Lambeau Field.

“Does he even know the importance of that moment?! My brother doesn’t belong in any category that includes Brett Favre! I’m the sibling who’s into sports!!”

Resisting the urge to complain, swallowing my pride (and the fact that he got a 100 likes on Facebook, I took the moment to reflect on myself and the recent changes to my life.

I have come into Fast Horse with an open mind, excitement, and fire in my belly. Previously I was manager of a local bridal boutique in Minneapolis. From that experience, I learned that I love the culture a small company creates, and the responsibility that comes with it.

My main background is retail and business, however, I have always been fascinated by the power of branding. Creating and telling the story of a product or service that becomes intertwined with people’s day-to-day lives is the ultimate prize. Achieving this goal is a huge challenge, and with today’s insane amount of platforms to receive and share information, the possibilities are endless. It’s creativity at its best that I cannot wait to dive into.

Until I make it to a Vikings game in Green Bay, my personal Lambeau leap is my new adventure here at Fast Horse. For me, it’s all about the nerves, adrenaline, and moments where I’m in a full out sprint, praying I don’t fall on my ass or get rejected on the opponents turf (see here: http://d1uxo3lrkrg9rh.cloudfront.net/img/321d4b5c2a11778497f7d888463e6e5d). I can’t wait.

To bring the sports analogy full circle, I’m beyond excited to be working with such creative and hard working people. As I begin this new challenge, I’ll be bringing my A-game and competitive spirit looking forward to that Lambeau moment.
