Scott Broberg
Vice President
Joined Fast Horse: 2003
Professional Skills:
My work week usually blends some level of client counsel, branding and positioning work, special-event planning, sponsorship activation, content-marketing strategy and traditional/social media outreach. People say I’m versatile, but my specialty is sports marketing. I’ve got years of experience building and executing programs around nearly every sports league (except the World Footbag Association), working closely with some of the world’s most famous athletes in the process.
Path to Fast Horse:
Before Fast Horse, I worked at Weber Shandwick, the world’s largest PR firm, for more than seven years. After showing a little promise during a short freelance stint, the firm kept me around for an internship and ultimately gave me a full-time gig. From there it was a whirlwind of high-profile campaigns for clients such as Jim Beam and The Coca-Cola Company — ranging from special events, brand promotions and new product introductions to activation of sports and entertainment sponsorships. My favorite job, however, was spending my summers during college coaching youth baseball, trying to teach the infield fly rule to kids who were more interested in picking dandelions in the outfield.
Community Involvement:
I serve on the Board of Directors for Athletes Committed to Educating Students (A.C.E.S.), a non-profit organization devoted to providing tutoring and mentoring programs to inner-city kids in the Twin Cities area.
Key Insight:
The List: Top Five Power Ballads of All Time:
“I Remember You” — Skid Row
“November Rain” — Guns ‘N Roses
“Love Song” — Tesla
“Home Sweet Home” — Mötley Crüe
“Every Rose Has Its Thorn” — Poison
My Hometown (And Best Thing About It):
Pine City, Minn. Best thing about it: The Pizza Pub, home of the finest pepperoni, sausage and mushroom pie you’ll ever taste.
I’m Famous For:
My diet. I don’t eat anything green and let’s just say I’m not afraid of a little repetition. I could eat turkey every day for a year — no trouble.
Very Few People Know That I:
I’ve never actually interviewed for any job I’ve ever held.

Before joining Fast Horse in 2003, Broberg was responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Weber Shandwick’s Coca-Cola business, coordinating programs to support brand promotions and new product introductions, as well as many of Coke’s sports and entertainment sponsorships.
Broberg has extensive sports-marketing experience. He has helped clients plan and carry out marketing and sponsorship-activation programs around the National Basketball Association, NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, National Hockey League, Major League Baseball, National Football League and NASCAR. He has worked with a number of athletes serving as program spokespeople, including cyclist Lance Armstrong; Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana; NBA stars LeBron James, Tim Duncan and Yao Ming; Olympic gold medalists Shawn Johnson and Jim Craig; baseball great Andre Dawson and NASCAR Nextel Cup champions Dale Earnhardt, Bill Elliott, Dale Jarrett, Bobby Labonte and Tony Stewart.
