Jenny Zanatta
Associate Designer
Joined Fast Horse: 2011
Professional Strengths: I excel at identity design and packaging — and I bring a keen insight into web design. I’m fluent in Adobe’s Creative Suite, a wiz in Illustrator, proficient in Photoshop and InDesign, and I know my way around Dreamweaver and hand coding as well. I pay great attention to detail, have a perfectionist nature and a distaste for procrastination.
Path to Fast Horse: I graduated from the University of Minnesota in May 2011, earning a Bachelor of Science in graphic design. I graduated summa cum laude through the University Honors Program. While attending the University of Minnesota, I held a variety of design jobs, which included creative intern at ESBEE Public Relations and Marketing, designer at GrapeVine Public Relations and Marketing, and creative intern and freelance designer at Griffin International Companies. Shortly after graduation, I applied for a Fast Horse design internship — and lucky for me I got the job! I landed the design associate position in January 2012.
Community Involvement: Member of AIGA and supporter of local animal shelters.
Key Insight: Hands down the two most important things to remember for getting through design school: “When in doubt: reboot. If that doesn’t work: ask the Google” (words of wisdom from my father) and “Save often, and don’t forget to spell check.”
The List: Five Things That Would Let Me Die Happy
- Hug a panda.
- Drink wine in Italy with my relatives in Treviso.
- Eat at The French Laundry.
- Win a James Beard for restaurant graphics.
- Find out who Ted Mosby’s wife is already.
My Hometown (And Best Thing About It): Eagan, Minn. Briano’s Deli was within walking distance of my house.
I’m Famous For: My homemade fudge. Hang around me near a holiday, and you may be lucky enough to score a bite!
Very Few People Know That I: As much as I love to cook and bake, I still can’t successfully make a grilled cheese. That one always manages to trip me up!
