Sports Marketing

We develop compelling, integrated campaigns, with an emphasis on engaging today’s sports fans through non-traditional marketing efforts. We’ve executed programs in conjunction with the world’s biggest sporting events. And we consistently deliver results using creativity and leveraging technology to stay ahead of the game as the ever-evolving media environment puts fans fully in charge of how they consume sports.

Mean Joe Greene Cleo Award

Fast Horse worked with Coca-Cola and the Pittsburgh Steelers to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Coke’s legendary TV spot starring Hall of Famer “Mean Joe” Greene. The ad won a Clio Award in 1980, but somehow Joe never received his trophy over the years. That oversight was resolved with a special event during pre-game festivities at Heinz Field, where Greene was presented with the award and reunited with his co-star from the original ad.

Sprite Slam-Dunk Showdown

The Sprite Slam-Dunk Showdown annually searches for the country’s best amateur dunker through grassroots competitions in key markets, as well as an online campaign allowing high-flying dunkers to showcase their skills via video submissions. The Showdown culminates with a high-profile event at NBA Jam Session during All-Star Weekend, which is broadcast on NBA.com and NBA TV. Fast Horse drives buzz throughout the program, including social media activation, blogger outreach and traditional media relations leveraging Showdown judges, such as NBA dunking legends LeBron James, Dominique Wilkins and Darryl Dawkins.

Coca-Cola Tailgating America Tour

How do you walk away from your NFL and still maintain equity in football? Fast Horse teamed with Coca-Cola to build a campaign around Joe Cahn, self-appointed “Commissioner of Tailgating,” and his annual tour of NFL and college football stadiums. The 50-market tour generated grassroots buzz and widespread local and national media attention, directly connecting Coca-Cola to one of football’s most popular rituals. The program culminated with a 168-hour tailgating marathon at the Super Bowl, a stunt that stood apart from the clutter and helped drive publicity for a full week leading up to the big game.

Nation’s Longest Grill For Coca-Cola

We teamed with Coca-Cola to kick off summer in big way with the Quarter-Mile Cookout. The creative event connected Coke with summer, meals and family barbecues while amplifying the brand’s marquee NASCAR sponsorship and its Summer Can series. Fast Horse organized the event, built buzz through traditional and social media channels, and produced videos to keep the momentum going. | Quarter-Mile Cookout Case Study

Dasani Skillet Showdown

Fast Horse helped DASANI reach sports fans during NCAA Final Four weekend with the Slam Dunk Skillet Showdown — a special charity event that tested the cooking skills of some of the country’s best college basketball coaches, including Roy Williams, Jim Calhoun, Tom Izzo and Rick Majerus.

POWERADE Athletic Club Launch

Fast Horse helped launch the POWERADE Athletic Club, a web-based loyalty program, highlighted by exclusive LeBron James comics and mini-movies created by DC Comics, as well as custom gear and cool experiences. LeBron served as a spokesperson to drive national media attention. We used the uniqueness of the animated content featuring LeBron’s alter ego, “King James,” to drive awareness and new members for the club.
