Big project, little budget
With a limited budget, Public Art Saint Paul sought to create awareness of the University Avenue Project, which chronicled the changing neighborhoods along St. Paul’s busiest thoroughfare. Public Art Saint Paul sought to reach influencers, generate attendance at live events and promote sales of an associated two-volume book on the project.

Generate buzz through key influencers
Fast Horse helped develop an overall communications plan that included media relations, social media, event planning and advertising. We found volunteers to execute the social media and event planning based on our recommendations. We handled the media relations and contributed to creating ads in support of the project.

Picture these great results
The project received saturation media coverage in the Twin Cities, with every major media outlet doing multiple features on the University Avenue Project during its run, along with extensive coverage from smaller neighborhood publications. Attendance at the weekly and monthly live events exceeded expectations, with more than 20,000 attendees during the show’s run.

Fact: Artist Wing Young Huie’s University Avenue Project transformed a major urban thoroughfare into a six-mile public gallery of over 400 photographs.
