Fast Horse Rocks Minnesota Beatle Project

Minnesota Beatle Project

Fast Horse teams with Vega Productions on good tunes for a good cause. We ran an integrated campaign to get music fans pumped about the Minnesota Beatle Project, a charitable endeavor benefiting youth music and art programs.

Opening act: Generating excitement
A charity album doesn’t help anyone if no one knows about it. We coupled media outreach and paid advertising with content marketing to tell the story of Minnesota musicians covering Beatles tunes. We designed print ads and a promotional poster. Our efforts paid off with plenty of earned media in print, broadcast and online.

Jamming with content
News articles, blog posts and favorable reviews are great, but we wanted even more attention. So when the Minnesota Beatle Project Vol. 2 record came out, Fast Horse produced a series of videos featuring Mason Jennings, P.O.S., Soul Asylum, the Meat Puppets, Rogue Valley and other artists. The videos garnered thousands of views on multiple platforms.

Results rock: Raising cash for kids
Music fans have gobbled up both versions of the Minnesota Beatle Project albums. Vol. 1 raised $25,000 for music and art programs in Minnesota public schools. Vol. 2 is on track to raise twice that much. Music to our ears!

Fact: Soul Asylum covered “Good Morning, Good Morning” — but never actually got together to record. Band members laid down their tracks and mailed them via snail mail to singer Dave Pirner, who assembled the tune in New Orleans.
