MTV Leaves Music In The Dust

Hey, MTV! I’m starting a new television channel called RTV. It stands for ‘Reality Television,’ except there will be no reality TV…just music. Kidding, of course, but that’s about how far MTV has strayed from their original purpose of Music Television since its launch in 1981.

I Get Tired Just Thinking About Joining Google+

Google’s new social networking platform is rolling out this week. It looks like Google+ has some cool features, especially the way it lets you manage specific groups of friends. But I’m fairly happy with Facebook and it’s exhausting to think of starting from scratch with Google+.

You’ll Love The Insects In Cirque Du Soleil’s “Ovo”

I’ve never really been a big fan of arts and theater. Sports have always been my thing. But if you haven’t already done so, I highly recommend seeing Cirque Du Soleil’s “Ovo.” It’s showing in Minneapolis by the Mall of America through June 19 before heading to Chicago. I attended on Saturday and was completely [...]

Ride-Along Brings New Appreciation For Minneapolis Cops

Being a sucker for crime shows such as “Cops” and “CSI,” I didn’t know whether I should be excited about the adrenaline rush of riding along with a Minneapolis police officer — or worried enough to go buy a bullet-proof vest.

Some make it a tradition to attend a holiday concert, bake cookies with Grandma, decorate ornaments or even take a vacation. If you’re anything like my family, you’ve made it [...]

Plunging Into The Black Friday Madness

Huge crowds. Lots of waiting. Tight spaces. Little sleep. Impatience. I don’t know about you, but Black Friday doesn’t sound like fun to me. It sounds more like a giant headache. Even so, I’ve been telling myself for years that I should wake up early to join the Black Friday madness and get the full experience of it all. It still hasn’t happened. I absolutely LOVE to shop, but so far, Black Friday deals have not been attractive enough for me to put myself into a nightmare when I could be sleeping instead.

Memo To Minnesota Wild Fan: Let The Rypien 'Attack' Go

e story of an angry Vancouver Canucks player grabbing a Minnesota Wild fan last week at Xcel Energy Center made for great video and plenty of sports chatter. This incident should be so over by now … but it’s not. And I’m blaming the fan at this point for dragging things out.
