Get out the vote
Let the voting begin. It’s time to select the next Fast Horse intern, and we’re asking you to be part of the hiring committee.
Our intern search was a bit out of the ordinary, so we didn’t know what would happen when we launched a call for applications last month. We asked candidates to submit a “video cover letter” and explained that our Facebook community would make the final hiring decision.
We were delighted by the response we received on all fronts. The concept created significant buzz via traditional and social media. The submissions from around the country were outstanding, and feedback from the job seekers has been very positive.
We spent about a week interviewing the best candidates before identifying our three finalists: Andrew Miller from Portland, Molly Hasbargen from Minneapolis, and Stacy Rust from Iowa City.
Now the decision is up to you. We have links below to each candidate’s “video cover letter” and accompanying post about why he or she deserves the gig. Be sure to give each one a look and then vote for your favorite. Here’s how it works:
- First, visit The Fast Horse Experience on Facebook and become a fan if you’re not already – they actually call it “liking” now. Facebook requires you to “like” the Fast Horse Experience before you can “like” one of our candidates. Don’t worry: It’s easy and you can always ditch us later if we don’t keep you entertained.
- Watch the candidates’ videos and check out their written appeals for votes.
- Click the “like” icon below the video of the candidate you think should be our next intern. Comments don’t count as votes. Video views don’t count as votes. Nothing counts but those “likes,” so get clickin’.
Voting starts immediately and ends at 5 p.m. Central Time on Friday, June 18. The candidate with the highest number of “likes” gets the job – simple as that. We’re looking for creativity, personality, confidence and a little something extra. Help us out, friends of Fast Horse. Every vote counts, so please cast yours today.
