"Peanuts" Was Set in Linden Hills?

email

The Charlie Brown Christmas specials were set in Linden Hills. It must be true — we read it on Wikipedia.

Sparked by the Peepshow poll at right, we were having a discussion about the Christmas movie choices. Amanda was offended that “White Christmas” wasn’t included. John said, then what about “Jingle All The Way,” which was filmed in part in Amanda’s (and John’s) neighborhood, Linden Hills in southwest Minneapolis?

Others disputed that, so we went to Wikipedia to look it up. There we found that not only were portions of that movie filmed in Linden Hills, but that “the Charlie Brown television specials based on the “Peanuts” comic strip by Charles M. Schulz are also set in Linden Hills.”

Frankly, we’re skeptical. Is it really true? Fess up, Wikipedia.

PS – we never seriously considered “Jingle All The Way” for the best holiday movie award. However, I strongly recommended “Holiday Inn” and was laughed out of the room. I’ll be creating a top 10 list of holiday movies for those who think that “Elf” and “Jingle All The Way” are emblematic of our country’s tradition in holiday cinematic wonders.

I prefer typically secular/ comedy holiday movies as opposed to the religious movies. Elf, Christmas Vacation and Scrooged are my all-time favorites.
